Broken china earrings with handmade sterling silver ear wires and sterling silver wire wrapping around each piece of china. Each earring has a genuine freshwater pearl, sterling spacer and Swarovski crystal bead and the sterling ear wires are handmade by the artist. The china of this pair of earrings is a rather unusual Art Deco rendition of the classic Willow Pattern china (usually blue and white) by Edwin Knowles of England. There is only one of these pairs of earrings due to the way the china was broken and rounded out in the grinding process..
I love creating things out of items that no one thinks are beautiful anymore, like these broken china earrings. I browse antique and charity stores for china that is chipped or missing a saucer or cup. No one really wants something that's not perfect or useable, except me. (In fact I love this pattern so much that I'm going to be really disappointed when I've used it up.)
I take these damaged treasures home and upcycle them into new and beautiful pieces of jewelry which will be loved and appreciated by whomever receives it. Their hanging length 2 inches or 5cm.
This pair of earrings will be tastefully gift wrapped in a box with a ribbon.
