This Ming china ring features a shard of china that is genuine Ming china and was found in a shipwreck off the coast of Malaysia near Singapore. Pieces of this Ming china were given to me by a friend who had scuba dived the Portuguese shipwreck in the mid 1980's. My educated guess based on when the Portuguese were in the spice, tea and silk trading, is that this Ming china is probably at least 350-450 years old. Here's an article on its origins.

This ring has only sterling silver components and there is only one of this style ring in my inventory with its specific pattern and artistic setting. I set this ring using a sterling silver bezel strip for the setting around the china and it is on a sterling silver backing. Making this ring involved torch soldering in multiple stages as each joint was soldered. A fair bit of sawing, sanding and polishing was required to bring out the beauty of the setting. It is numbered 53 based on it being the fifty third item of jewelry that I have made with this rare porcelain china.

The actual ring is a US sized 8 and it's possible to be stretched up to a size 8 1/4. Just let me know if this is needed in the notes section on the checkout page.

There are lots of earrings or pendants in similar pieces of this Ming china, just use the phrases "Ming china earrings" or "Ming china pendant" in the search bar to find what's currently available.

This ring will be tastefully gift wrapped in a box and tied with an organza ribbon.
