Broken china pendant with blue and white leaves and flowers.
 
I love creating things out of items that no one thinks are beautiful anymore, like this broken china pendant. This Royal Doulton china was my parents china tea set and Mom had used the saucers to mix her watercolor paints on it. (You can tell art runs in the family). Given the fact that there were microscratches on the only white part of the saucer or cake side plate, the water colors stained the china. Thankfully for me the pretty pattern was on the edge of the saucer and not marred at all
 
I have taken this lovely blue and white floral pattern and made it into this handmade sterling silver and broken china pendant on sterling silver box chain necklace. This pendant has only sterling silver components and there is only one of this style pendant with its specific piece of china in my inventory.
 
This pendant is set using a sterling silver bezel strip for the setting around the china and it is on a sterling silver backing. Making this pendant involves torch soldering and multiple stages as each joint is soldered. 
 
The actual pendant has a hanging length of 1 1/4 inches or 3.2 cm. It comes with a sterling silver box chain that is 18 inches long. (If you would prefer a 16 inch chain, please let me know on the check out page.)
 
Having this on a leather looking silicone necklace is also an option (please see all photos). What I personally like about these silicone necklaces is that they make a pendant have a more casual look without the hassle factor of caring for a leather necklace. You do not have to worry about getting water on it and you can sleep with it on too. The length of it is 17 inches.
